In honor of today’s release of a digitally remastered Beatles discography, today’s post is a letter to a modern business owner, infused with a Fab Four feel. How many Beatles song titles can you spot?
Dear Business Owner,
I understand a day in the life of a business owner isn’t easy. There’s the stress, the demanding customers, the taxman breathing down your neck, and many a hard day’s night of overtime. Sometimes it’s all too much.
But we need to talk.
I know you need to boost sales, but it’s a little much to call me eight days a week. You can’t do that. It’s okay to reach out to me, but don’t bother me.
Don’t ask me why (because of the economy, probably), but everybody’s trying to be my baby. Here’s the thing: You don’t have to try so hard to win my business — just come and get it! All I ask is that you’re there when I need you.
Speaking of being there, I had a problem with my bill, so I called customer service yesterday. No reply. Help! I’m so tired of the runaround. Please, tell me why I have to leave messages here, there and everywhere hoping you’ll get back to me.
I’m glad to see you’re joining the social media revolution. I found your Facebook page (with a little help from my friends)…I even became a Fan. My wife, Michelle, is a Fan, too. She loves you! But you’ve gotta give her something besides a sales pitch or you’re going to lose that girl.
What you’re doing is a good start, and I’ve got a feeling we can work it out. Please don’t let me down.
From me to you,
Scott
