Social Media Charlotte Heats Up

The Charlotte social media scene has been percolating for a few months, and as summer approaches, we’ve got big developments in the works:

  • Social Fresh (aka SoFresh) is Charlotte’s first large-scale social media conference. Jason Keath is running point, has a great leadership team, and the August event promises to be a huge success. Follow @smclt and @sofresh for details.

  • Charlotte’s first Social Media Breakfast (a brainchild of Brian Person in Austin) is slated for May 12. Dilworth Neighborhood Grille is hosting the event. The conversation will likely focus on defining social media’s place in Charlotte.

  • I’m teaming up with the International Coach Federation, Charlotte Chapter to present a seminar tentatively titled Social Media Revealed Social Media Works. The seminar is geared toward small business owners who want to learn how to use social networking, blogging, Twitter, etc. for business. Contact me for more info.

  • Kudos to Nathan Richie for setting up a Ballantyne Biz group on the Social Media Charlotte site. The Ballantyne Biz Lunch TweetUp started last summer and has been a staple of Charlotte’s SM scene (look for the #BtynBiz hashtag on Twitter). Similar business-oriented TweetUps were spawned in SouthPark and University City. There’s even a calendar for all the Charlotte TweetUps.

  • Corey Creed continues his excellent blogging and SEO seminars. Corey is my go-to guy for content marketing.

I know I haven’t covered everything, but that’s a pretty kickass start to the summer, don’tcha think?
